Explore Sogetsu Ikebana 草月流花道
Weekly lessons
Class sizes at the Hana Art studios in Wong Chuk Hang are intimate - offering students more direct guidance and instruction from our teachers.
Students can enhance their skills and understanding of Sogetsu floral design through experimentation with a wide selection of floral materials, vases, and elements.
In-depth study
Students who wish to further develop their practice of Sogetsu Ikebana and would like to pursue the curriculum for certification can do so with our experienced teachers. See FAQs under Enrol for details.
As students build a stronger foundation, they will learn more variations and be able to practice freestyle if they have reached the teacher grade.
Courses at HKU Space
Taught by our instructors, Japanese Flower Arrangement I and Japanese Flower Arrangement II held at the HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education are excellent introductions to Sogetsu Ikebana.
Students learn about techniques and forms in Japanese flower arrangement through demonstration and hands-on practice. Floral materials can be taken home for further practice.
Courses are held on Saturdays at the HKU Space campus in Causeway Bay.
Ikebana for kids
Our Ikebana for Kids is an avenue for children to learn and play with the variety and abundance of nature from a Japanese Ikebana approach.
Classes are small (around six children) and are held during school holidays. Suitable for children ages six and up.
Parents who are interested in enrolling their children can email us to let us know of their interest.
